The Lauriston Halls and meeting rooms are part of the Jesuit Church of the Sacred Heart and the Edinburgh Jesuit Centre. There is a large hall (Lauriston Hall), a small hall, and several meeting rooms of different sizes.
The main Lauriston Hall and Small Hall have wheelchair access from the street.
Our halls are licensed for public events until 11.00pm.
We do not have a premises alcohol licence. If you intend to sell alcohol at your event, you need to arrange your own alcohol licences from Edinburgh City Council or employ a pop-up bar provider. Further information here.
Our premises have public liability insurance up to £50m.
The Lauriston Hall (Main Hall)
The main Lauriston Hall is suitable for conferences and meetings, lectures and exhibitions, receptions, dances and social events. It can be set up in different ways to suit your needs. The main floor area is 18m x 15m and seats 150 people at tables of 6 or 8 (we have round or rectangular tables); or 200 people in theatre/lecture format (14 rows of 14 chairs); or the floorspace can be clear for socials/dances with chairs/tables arranged around the edge. There is a small stage for a band or performer, speakers or a panel. Kitchen facilities are available at a small additional charge (see below).
Please note that we do not accept bookings for private events such as wedding receptions or birthday parties.
We do not accept bookings for Sundays.
Lauriston Hall charges 2025
Monday to Thursday
£100 per hour. Minimum booking 2-hours.
Friday & Saturday
£135 per hour. Minimum booking 3-hours.
The Small Hall
The Small Hall can accommodate up to 40 people. It is suitable for meetings, lectures, talks and smaller social events.
Small Hall charge 2025: £45 per hour.
The Ogilvie Room
The Ogilvie Room accommodates 25 people and is suitable for small groups and meetings.
Ogilvie Room charge 2025: £45 per hour.
Kitchen
The kitchen serves the Lauriston (Main) Hall and the Small Hall.
Kitchen charge 2025: £15 per hour when booked with the Main Hall or Small Hall.
Edinburgh Festival
The Lauriston Halls are a Festival Fringe venue (called C-Aurora) managed by C-Arts. Booking enquiries for the Fringe during the month of August, should be directed to C-Arts.
How to make an enquiry/booking

You need to tell us what sort of event it is.
We will respond by email to let you know if the booking is possible or not. If it is, we will send detailed information and a booking form.
You are welcome to come and view the Lauriston Hall and other rooms. This is usually possible Mondays to Fridays between 8am and 12-noon. Please email to arrange a date/time.
If you wish to make a booking, return the form. We will then send an invoice. Payment confirms your booking.
You can cancel and receive a full refund up to 14 days before the date of your event.
